One of the most complete AI apps on the market — unfiltered and unapologetic.
- Unique Personas system — YOU also play a character, not just your GF. Two-sided roleplay, nobody else does this
- Best voices on the market — real recordings, not TTS. Intonations, breathing, actual nuance
- Built scenarios — each character has their context, their world (ancient Rome, thriller, mythological). Real writing
- $9.17/mo annual (-77%) with 8,000 Moments/mo — billed as "S LABS INC" on your statement
Not an aperitif AI girlfriend — it's a narrative experience. For people who like to read, write, build, play a character. Real learning curve but the investment pays.
Ok so. Secrets AI.
This one’s weird to review because it took me almost 2 full days to actually get what it does. And once I got it, I didn’t want to leave.
Let me explain.
First attempt — I bounced
Signed up. Picked a character from the gallery — some girl named Megan. Chatted for maybe 15 minutes. Thought: “this is fine but it’s not blowing my mind.” Closed the tab.
Came back 2 days later because I needed to review it properly. And that’s when I noticed the Personas option.
Wait, what?
The Personas thing — this is the unlock

Every other AI girlfriend app I’ve used works like this: you = the faceless user. She has a personality. You’re just the “hi” guy.
Secrets flips it. You can create a Persona — your own character, with a name, backstory, style. She reads that profile and adapts to you.
I made one called Marcus Hale — private detective, sarcastic, NYC-based (shoutout to my 3am brain). Gave him 3 lines of backstory.
Talked to Megan again with the Persona on.
Third message she called me “detective.” Nothing I said prompted that. She just clocked the Persona file.
That’s when it clicked. This isn’t a chat app. It’s a two-person scene.
Other apps: [You] → [Custom GF]
Secrets: [Custom You] ↔ [Custom GF]
(And yeah, once you see it you can’t unsee it. Other apps feel flat after.)
The narrative chat — italic actions and all

Chat in Secrets reads like screenplay. Actions in asterisks — she steps closer, leans against the bar. Ambient descriptions. Dialogue that breathes.
It’s not texting. It’s collaborative writing.
If you hate reading, you’ll hate this. If you’re into it, you’re cooked.
The voices — ok yeah they’re not lying
I was skeptical when I read the marketing (“best voices on the market” — every app claims that).
Tested on day 3. Called a character named Seraphine (Gothic, dark, built for drama). Expected the usual TTS grind.
Got… real intonation. Pauses in the right places. A breathy thing on the exhale that I swear no synth engine produces naturally.
I’m not saying it’s Scarlett Johansson in Her. But it’s the closest I’ve heard on a consumer AI girlfriend app. For real.
The dialogue settings — deep but overwhelming
Ok here’s where it gets nerdy. You can tune:
- Length: SMS → Paragraph (how long her replies are)
- Spice: Mild / Medium / Spicy (how explicit she’ll go)
- Smart Mode: toggles a deeper context window
- Model: switch between X-2, S3.5, and others
First day I left it all default and got decent results. Day 2 I started tweaking and realized how much of the experience depends on these sliders. Day 3 I found their wiki (which, btw, is not linked from the main UI — had to google it).
This should be taught during onboarding. It isn’t. That’s the biggest UX flaw.
The scenarios — they’re built, not spawned
Each character has a scenario. Not a prompt — a full context. Example from their catalog:
“Livia Aurelia, a slave courtesan in ancient Rome who finds freedom through philosophy, poetry, and understanding people’s hearts.”
That’s not a Character.AI-style 2-line description. That’s a scene. She doesn’t wait for you to speak. She’s already in her world when you show up.

Community has published thousands of these. Quality varies. The top-rated ones are genuinely good writing.

Kimberly, 42, Beverly Hills. That’s the kind of profile that makes Secrets stand out — characters that break the “generic 20-something” mold every other app recycles. Unapologetic MILF, crafted social context, personality coherent with her world. Miles ahead of the interchangeable catalogs elsewhere.
Pricing — and the billing thing
Heads up: the charge shows up as “S LABS INC” on your bank statement. Which I appreciate — if you share a card or your statement goes anywhere visible, that’s a lot better than “SECRETS AI ADULT NSFW LLC”.
Heads up #2: Personas are a Ultimate-tier feature. You heard me. The thing I just spent 500 words telling you is the unlock — it’s gated behind the $26.67/mo plan, not the $9.17 Prime plan.
I learned this the hard way when I tried to create a second Persona on Prime and got a paywall. Fine. Worth it? Depends. If you’re going to use Personas heavily, yes. If one default Persona is enough, stick with Prime and save $17/mo.

What I liked
— Voices that actually sound human, not just “acceptable” — Personas system is a different paradigm, not a feature — Narrative chat reads well if you’re into writing — Scenarios give characters actual context, not just prompts — 3 model switch is nice for power users — Community characters = bottomless content
What I didn’t
— Onboarding is rough. Expect to lose 2 days figuring it out. — Personas gated to Ultimate — should be in Prime honestly — Web only. No mobile app in 2026 is a choice I don’t get — Some fine settings are wiki-only — not discoverable in-UI
Is Secrets for you?
For you if:
— You love to read, write, build a story — Secrets is a literary playground, not a chatbot. — The Personas system speaks to you — you want to play a character yourself (detective, CEO, adventurer, fictionalized you). — You want the best voices on the market — real recordings, not flat TTS. — You accept a learning curve — some fine settings require wiki reading. But it pays.
Not for you if:
— You want to open an app and chat quickly — Secrets demands investment. Start with Candy AI instead. — You want maximum photorealism — Candy wins on visual rendering. — You want a mobile app — Secrets is web-only in 2026. — You want cheap — at $9.17/mo it’s above Candy ($3.99) and Joi ($4.80 annual).
If Secrets isn’t for you — the alternatives
— Candy AI — mainstream all-rounder (9/10). Chat + photo + video + voice + calls, starting at $3.99/mo. More immediate and less demanding than Secrets.
— Luvr.ai — the Roleplay Grail (9.5/10). Close narrative philosophy, with Scenario Builder (you write the setup, the AI plays). If you like Secrets, you’ll likely love Luvr.
— Darlink.ai — the Hentai dungeon (8.1/10). If your narrative lane is Hentai / Monster AI rather than generalist dark roleplay.
— Kupid.ai — community-driven chat (8/10). If you like user-created character catalogs and want something less dark than Secrets.
— Golove.ai — the quick appetizer (8.2/10). If Secrets demands too much investment and you just want direct/easy, Golove is the perfect antithesis — Tinder swipe, NSFW no detour, $4.45/mo.
Frequently asked questions
Is Secrets AI free?
No, essentially paid. You can create an account and explore the interface, but serious use requires a subscription. Prime at $9.17/mo annual (or $19.99 monthly) with 8,000 Moments/mo included. If you want to test for free first, Swipey offers a genuine extended free tier.
What's the Personas system?
THE function that sets Secrets apart from the rest of the market. On other apps, you create a GF, you’re “the user.” On Secrets, you also have a character: a Persona with name, background, personality. Detective, CEO, adventurer, fictionalized version of yourself. Your GF reads that profile and adapts the whole conversation to who you’re supposed to be. It’s more than chat — it’s a two-sided performance.
What are Moments?
Moments are Secrets’ in-app currency. Each premium action costs Moments: standard image (50), standard video (300), adult video (600), voice call (100 Moments/minute). The Prime plan includes 8,000 Moments/month — roughly 160 images, 26 standard videos, 13 adult videos OR 80 minutes of voice call.
How does billing show up?
“S LABS INC” on your statement — not “Secrets AI”. Worth knowing if you share a card or account. The company processes billing through this neutral label for discretion.
Secrets or Luvr — which one?
Both are excellent narrative options. Luvr.ai is more immersive on individual characters (Medusa, Lilith, Dr. Becker) with the Scenario Builder letting you write your own setups. Secrets AI is more complete on features (Personas, group chat, 3 switchable AI models) but demands more investment.
For narrative + polished visual → Luvr. For two-sided roleplay with Personas system → Secrets.
How do I cancel Secrets quickly?
Cancellation from your account, 4 steps: settings > Subscription
Cancel > confirmation. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Full procedure below.
How to cancel Secrets AI (procedure)
4 steps + what to watch for
Cancellation happens from your account, no customer service runaround.
Steps
- Log in to secrets.ai.
- Open account settings (profile icon, top right).
- Go to Subscription / Billing.
- Click Cancel Subscription — you keep Prime access until the end of the paid period.
What you should know
— “S LABS INC” on your statement (not “Secrets AI”). If you spot this line and don’t remember where it’s from, that’s them. — Unused Moments stay in your account as long as the account is active — no immediate loss on cancellation. — Annual vs monthly: if you’re on annual at $9.17/mo, cancellation just stops the renewal — you keep access until term.
Verdict
Secrets AI — 8.5/10
This isn’t an “open and go” app. It’s an RPG disguised as an AI girlfriend. If you love roleplay, writing, building characters — this is the one. You’ll lose weekends to it.
If you want to open an app, chat for 10 minutes, close it — get Candy or Swipey instead. Secrets will frustrate you.
For me? I’m on Prime. Might upgrade to Ultimate once I run out of single-Persona ideas, but Prime’s holding up fine.
→ Back to full comparison → → Candy AI review → → Swipey — my April pick → → Kupid.ai — solid LLM, community-driven →
Generational leap: 4-15s clips at 1080p, native lip-sync audio, 5000-char prompts. Camera control (dolly, pan, zoom) jitter-free.
