How we make a living (and why we tell you)
You deserve to know how love-pixel.com is funded. The answer takes 30 seconds. And it's important we tell you before you click our links.
The model in 30 seconds
love-pixel.com is free for you. No paywall, no subscription, no forced newsletter. Some links on the site — the ones pointing to apps we test — are affiliate.
Concretely: if you click one of those links and sign up on the app, we earn a commission. That's how we pay for the server, the subscriptions to apps we test, and our coffee.
What it changes for you (nothing)
The price you pay is strictly the same, whether you go through our link or straight to the app's site. Apps charge the same rate everywhere. We don't take a margin on you — we're just paid by the app for sending you their way.
If you prefer going directly to the app's site without our links, feel free. No judgment. We just think it's cool if you go through us because it helps us keep going.
What it changes for us
It's what lets us actually test the apps. Good tests require premium subscriptions, time, sometimes weeks of use. Without this model, we'd just read marketing pages and paraphrase the pitch.
Here, we pay for our annual Candy AI, we burn tokens on Promptchan, we test 15 characters on Luvr. We put our money where our mouth is. That's why our reviews are actually based on use, not on a spec sheet.
Our editorial independence
This is the part that really matters. Our ratings aren't bought. An app that pays a big commission but disappoints in use stays poorly rated. Some apps at the bottom of our ranking are also our affiliate partners — and we haven't bumped them up for it.
Conversely, we warmly recommend apps that don't pay us a cent: Janitor AI, Character.AI, Crushon.AI. They're free, they're good, we highlight them when they match the user's need. Zero commission, zero reason to hide them.
It's the only way to stay credible long-term. If we start distorting ratings for commission, we end up like 90% of comparison sites out there — and no one reads us anymore.
Our current partners
We primarily work with CrakRevenue, the largest affiliate network for AI companion apps in 2026. Some apps have their own direct program — in that case we work directly with them.
Not every app mentioned on the site is necessarily a partner — some are there just because they deserve a mention (see above). When a link is affiliate, we tell you clearly in the banner at the top of the review.
