It got caught up a little by the market’s newcomers, but it learned: it now offers images, video and voice. Its real strength is still elsewhere — in how natural its characters feel — but it’s become a far more complete app than before.

Kupid, the pioneer that found its real strength

For a long time Kupid was “the chat and nothing else.” That era is over: image, video and voice generation have landed. But let’s be honest — that’s not where the app shines. Where Kupid really stands out is the naturalness of its dialogue.

The catalog is varied — Jolene the American winemaker, Anastasia the Ukrainian consultant, Mariko the shy Japanese student, Juno the Brooklyn rebel… Each character has a written backstory, an age, a nationality. And above all, a way of talking that rings true.

The chat: direct, and a girlfriend who keeps it going

The girls are mostly very direct. The conversation stays interesting and well-built. She talks back, keeps it going, and even takes a step sideways if she senses you holding back. This is a real dialogue dynamic, not textual ping-pong. There’s a certain tenderness in the exchanges, and that’s what sets it apart from a cold conversion machine.

Images: 3 model types, and the prompt that saves the day

It runs through roughly the same steps as most AI girlfriend apps. Step 1, you pick your model: three options — official model, community model, or my models.

Honestly, the official models aren’t amazing, and the community ones are pretty much cut from the same cloth. So I’d strongly suggest creating your own, otherwise you’ll end up going in circles ^^

Step 2, two options: “Surprise Me” (2 coins) or Advanced Settings, with a little prompt customization — Action / Fetish / Outfits / Positions categories, plus toggles like being cute, show cleavage, your smile.
