The prompt that makes building your AI companion easy
A good chat character comes down to 4 things: sharp personality traits, a recognizable speech style, a context (job, hobbies, relationship) and an opening message that sets the scene. Vague = a generic character that forgets who it is within three replies. Precise = a character that holds its role over time.
The opening message does most of the work
The opening sets the tone for the whole relationship. Dialogue alone falls flat; a short action narration followed by a line (e.g. *sits down next to you* So, tell me…) sets the scene and pulls you in far better. It's the most important field.

The personality block goes into the « Personality » / description field of the character creator: Janitor AI, Joi, OurDream, Candy AI, Xotic. The opening message goes into the « Greeting » / first message field. You generate here, you paste, it's already in the right format.
