The Roleplay button flips it into scene mode rather than plain back-and-forth, and that’s where OhChat really opens up.

A word on languages — a native surprise

English is the app’s default, so as an English speaker you get the native experience out of the box — no language barrier to report. But the part worth flagging is what happens in other languages. I pushed it in French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese, and the scene-setting narration stays native in each — not the English stage-directions bolted onto a translated dialogue that rivals like Luvr and Dreamz fall back on. It even localizes the little details (a monument, a local drink) and stays uncensored throughout. There’s no language menu to hunt for either — you just type in your language and it follows. For an English reader that’s a bonus rather than the headline, but it says a lot about how polished the underlying model is.

Photo, video, voice — media on demand

Beyond text, OhChat is built to hand you images and clips on demand. The Ask Photo and Ask Video buttons trigger generation inside the conversation, and everything collects in the Gallery (Photos, Videos, Audio tabs). Characters also send voice notes — audio is part of the package, not a gimmick.

Photo generation runs through preset actions — a wink, a kiss, a pose, and so on — that you pick from a list, rather than a free-text prompt. It’s more guided than a generator like Candy or Dreamz: you get less fine control, but it’s simpler and gets straight to the point. Is OhChat free?

Partly. You can browse the catalog and chat without paying — OhChat hands out a batch of free messages, with a small daily top-up. Enough to test the tone and the quality of the chat.

But the moment you want explicit media, a wall drops: “Join OhChat to view explicit content,” with mandatory sign-in (Google, email or crypto wallet). And the free image allowance is tiny — a few images and you hit “You’ve reached your free image limit. Upgrade your subscription.” In other words: chat to test, but the visuals get paywalled fast.
